Coil upenders are also available in a pinch roller setting. When the heat is applied to the coil, the spiral coils are forced to move in a direction perpendicular to the surface they are placed on. These pinch rolls are a popular option for electrical wire stripping because they provide excellent conductivity rates, along with high electrical strength. The only downside is that these pinch rolls are unable to support as much weight as the straighteners, so the coiled spring may need to be replaced if the wire is too heavy. Another option available for uncoiling coils is a ratchet system. These systems have two speed settings, which enable the user to increase or decrease the electrical current through the coil using a ratchet.
