It uses either hot or cold-formed steel coils and special die sets to make the coils tight and round. This type of coil handling equipment can handle a wide range of gauges from small coils to extremely large diameter steel coils. The die sets are specially designed to form tightly even round coils without creating slivers or sections that can separate, which will cause excessive wear to wind.

Coil Tilting Machines: A Coil tiller is a specialized type of machine that is specifically designed to move coils vertically or horizontally. The reason for this is that both horizontal and vertical coils can be handled at the same time depending on how the manufacturer has designed the device. The tilting mechanism uses a counterweight to keep the coil from falling while pushing it up or down. The vertical positioning makes it possible to raise the coils while rotating them vertically, which makes it an effective tool.
